Our free time is ostensibly limited, and if our attention is to be invested properly, we have to abandon focus on some things in favor of other things. The bigest mental parasite is The News, it is just a pile of useless information that people accumulate during time that they could be using to actually improve themselves through Simple Qigong Exercises. For example the following acrobats had to ignore a great deal of information in order to focus on developing their skill, they had to mind their own business, invest energy in their own bodies.
Westoid sources on Qigong seem to tend to talk a lot about Qi and interpret Qigong as complex movements, but Oriental sources seem to focus on producing short videos of simple calisthenics designed to help circulation through the body. It reminds me of Western and Eastern Taoism.
Western Taoism seems to talk much about do-nothing and no-self, as if it is a proto-hippie cult; but Eastern sources of Taoism are focused on specific rituals to honor the gods, who tend to be petitioned for practical purposes such as financial needs and survival of the lineages.
When looking at critique of "modern Western imperialism," Western interpretations of 'Eastoid cultures' may be imperialistic, such interpretations may impose a bland tone on Asian cultures, interpretations that seem to neuter Asian cultures of a connection to the practical world.
