It is related to winnan which means to struggle for something in Anglo-Saxon, so wynn alludes to the joy of victory, however victory itself is sigel in that language which also means sun. The glory of victory is tir, it means to be like the sun. The halo associated with saints may be related to tir, which is like a person becoming like the sun in a way. Victory is equated with the attainment of prosperity hence solar symbols are associated with prosperity in Indo-European culture, however these symbols are open to be used by all. Any misappropriation of Indo-European symbols by racist movements is tantamount to being a defamation of Indo-European culture, a culture that is peaceful and not racist in its essence.
