In ‘Works And Days’ by Hesiod Zeus and Hera are described as having the ability to raise up the low and reduce the high. The number zero contains properties of both diminishing and elevating, for example a number can be divided by zero infinitely, but if zero is divided by a number it equals nothing. Hence in the sense what is called God embodies the properties of zero who is in relation to both the infinite and nothingness. We can take this one step further with an analysis of what interconnects phenomena. Scientists may say that quantum entanglement connects phenomena, and if this were to be analyzed the process of quantum entanglement would be seen as the gradations of frequency between particles, the ‘rainbow’ of frequencies in the universe. This spectrum of frequencies can be said to be held together by the nexus of what is represented by the number zero, a point of ambiguity joining together the infinite with nothingness. Similarly the figure called God in The Bible appears to have properties representing what could be called “The In-Between,” in the sense that people’s prayers seem founded upon inter-relations. These speculations are not intended as science and nor are they intended to justify or negate polytheism or monotheism, or atheism.
However the power of the number zero seems to be such that it relates to magnification and diminishing, for example the above instances where zero is involved with division either before or after a number. The other aspect is that the numbers 1 through 9 represent a complete set, with a new set starting at 10. In the number 10, 1 represents the new set, with zero representing the completion of the previous set, but in this case zero also serves a function of negating the perpetuation of the previous set. In addition to its role of negation, the zero being added to the end of the 1 to make 10 serves as a magnification. May the power of Zero be with us all!
